All Eligible Molina Healthcare Plans Now Enjoy Prestigious Top Rating

LONG BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 25, 2007--Molina Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: MOH) today announced that Molina Healthcare of California, one of its subsidiary health plans, has earned the highest accreditation accorded by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to measuring the quality of America's health care.

The new "Excellent" accreditation rating for Molina Healthcare of California means that all of Molina Healthcare's eligible health plans now enjoy the NCQA's highest quality rating.

"Molina Healthcare is committed to serving our members by providing access to the highest quality care, and I am delighted that our commitment to quality has been validated by such a respected organization as NCQA," said Dr. J. Mario Molina, president and chief executive officer of Molina Healthcare, Inc. "This accreditation recognizes that we have incorporated quality improvement into our standard operating procedures, and we are extremely proud of this important achievement."

"NCQA's 'Excellent' accreditation status is reserved for the best health plans in the nation. It is only awarded to those plans that meet or exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement and deliver excellent clinical care," said Margaret O'Kane, president of the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

An "Excellent" accreditation status is NCQA's highest survey outcome and is granted only to health plans that demonstrate levels of service and clinical quality that meet or exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement. Health plans earning this accreditation level must also achieve Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) results that are in the highest range of national or regional performance. HEDIS is a tool used by more than 90 percent of America's health plans to measure performance on important dimensions of care and service.

"I want to thank our employees, providers and leadership for their contributions to our enhanced accreditation. This achievement is truly a reflection of their hard work and diligence in providing high quality care to our members," said Steve O'Dell, president of Molina Healthcare of California.

NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations and recognizes physicians in key clinical areas. NCQA's Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set is the most widely used performance measurement tool in health care. NCQA is committed to providing health care quality information through the Web, media and data licensing agreements in order to help consumers, employers and others make more informed health care choices.
