Molina Medical Centers launch Family PACT Services at Wilmington and Colton Locations

Apr 04, 2000

More than 1.9 million women with incomes below 200 percent of the federal poverty level are in need of subsidized family planning services in California. To meet this need, California's Family PACT (Planning, Access, Care and Treatment) program, jointly administered by the California Department of Health Services (DHS) Office of Family Planning and Medi-Cal, will help bring comprehensive, family planning services to men and women without cost to eligible men and women through California providers.

Molina Medical Centers' Staff Model Offices is pleased to be a provider of Family PACT services at its Wilmington and Colton locations.

Molina's P.A.C.T services include: reproductive health information, education and counseling; general reproductive and preventive health care; medical contraceptive services; preconception counseling and maternal and fetal health counseling.

According to Annette Guerrero, MD, a Molina Medical Centers' family practitioner who is helping to spearhead the program for Molina's office in Wilmington, "The goal is to provide comprehensive, high-quality services related to reproductive health to both men and women."

Part of this goal means providing the necessary tools so that men and women have the means to establish their desired number and spacing of children. But there is more to the program, such as reproductive health information, education and counseling; general reproductive and preventive health care; medical contraceptive services; preconception counseling and maternal and fetal health counseling; and HIV-testing and counseling.

Molina Medical Centers is part of Molina Healthcare, a growing healthcare company committed to providing care to Medicaid; other government-sponsored health insurance programs for families and children; and commercial patients, has affiliates in Washington, Utah and Michigan. Molina's corporate headquarters are in Long Beach, California.
